ANTIGO, Wis. (WSAU) – Langlade County prosecutors charged seven people Thursday with possessing marijuana, including two Antigo school employees on paid leave for their role in the drug ring.
All seven defendants will make their initial appearance March 12th.
Among those charged are Antigo high school special ed teacher Joe Adams and Antigo learning disabilities teacher Mark Incha. Also charged Thursday were Tony Crabb, Robert Harlbert, Peter Miller, Chris Nicholson and Jay Peterson.
Three of the suspects have ties to the Merrill school district. Crabb is a substitute teacher, Miller is the former athletic director and Peterson is a teacher at Prairie River middle school.
According to court documents, many of the defendants admitted buying marijuana from Scot Peterson, who is Jay Peterson’s brother. Scot Peterson also named three other people who bought marijuana from him but none of those men have been charged.
District attorney Ralph Uttke filed the charges the same day a judge ordered former Antigo high school football coach and elementary school principal John Lund to stand trial for dealing marijuana over the last three years.
