MADISON, WI (WTAQ) - If you didn’t blink, you might have seen a couple seconds of last year’s State Capitol protests in a Super Bowl ad for Chrysler.
The powerful two-minute spot aired near the end of halftime. It featured Clint Eastwood pointing out the nation’s problems – and comparing the effort by America to get back on its feet with the second-half game plans of the Giants and Patriots.
The ad said it was “Halftime in America.”
It ended with autoworkers plying their craft as Eastwood said, “Detroit’s showing us it can be done – and when we do it, the world’s going to hear the roar of our engines.”
USA Today said it was the first time in years that, “a serious ad garnered serious attention on the Super Bowl.”
