MARSHFIELD, Wis. (WSAU) – A former Marshfield Clinic doctor made his first court appearance Tuesday on charges he fondled his patients as they woke up from sedation.

Dr. Kevin Lang appeared in Wood County circuit court with his attorney for the brief initial appearance. He waived the time limits to his preliminary hearing, which will determine whether there’s enough evidence to hold Lang for trial.

Judge Todd Wolf continued Lang’s $25,000 cash bond.

Lang is charged with five counts of second degree sexual assault of an intoxicated victim. According to court documents, Lang put his penis in the hands of patients as they were under anesthesia. He also forced one woman to touch herself inappropriately.

Lang voluntarily surrendered his medical license to the state in July in the midst of disciplinary proceedings.
